  • Do you know what types of questions are asked during the video testimonial?  Are the participants given prompts to talk about on camera?  What is the name of your scroll and why? This is the story that they have chosen to reveal about themselves so it is tge entry point for a deeper level conversation about who they are. The conversation flows naturally and we ask deeper level questions about where they come from and their experiences. We also ask what one word describes their hopes and dreams for the future and why.

  • Similarly, other than the prompt “what are your hopes and dreams for America’s future”, are there other questions or prompts you use to facilitate wider discussions during the artmaking? William and I do an introduction where we talk about our values spend your life doing what you love, be focused and disciplined and collaborate. Then we talk about our childhood experiences where those values emerged and how they have been nurtured. This sets a tone of how their experiences may inspire their values. Then we do a series of demonstrations on how they will work with us. The first is comical and playful and fun and gets people laughing. The second is tender and sincere where we tell them that we value them and treat they are important and that their stories are important and that their stories are the stories that make up America’s story. We invalidate them to think about the meaning of the 250th in their lives and to take an active role in the future of America

  • The grant asks about subject matter expertise and community partner roles. Do you happen to have bios or resumes for the key staff that will be working with us that day?  Perhaps the interviewer, Nick Chiodini? And what is Andre Robert Lee’s role with the American Storytellers, I assume he would be a good person to provide more info about. Andre will probably be there

https://andrerobertlee.com/ Angela Veninga will be there and she is an educator for 20 years that is currently teaching at a high school in the south Bronx. She is mega and I asked her for a bio. William and I will be there so you can check Steve and William.com Willie Alvarez should be there too:

https://www.avizeonstudios.com/ also my brother Matt Ladd who will be there has been an electrician for 30 years and it is awesome having that vibe there. Both of my parents Barbara Ladd and Charles Ladd will be finishing the artwork which gives family vibes and inter generational power. Also our graphic designer and editors are also our parents age and awesome Gina Skelton Sprouts and Claude Skelton Sprouts. And then our inters from the Bronx:

Do you know anything about how the Kennedy Center will be marketing the event in 2026?  Other than the January 2024 press release, assuming they will create additional press releases, social media, add to their website, etc?  In the app they ask about marketing and publicity, and I can fill in what The Aldrich will do to promote our program and the exhibition,  but it would be great to add where else it will likely show up. I am not sure how KC will be marketing but they talked about including the whole project on the website and pushing videos out on their social media channels. I assume that there will be another targeted press release for this project as we get closer too.

  • Will our Scrollathon program be added to your website where I see other presentations now? If yes, is it just the press release and image of the final artwork/mural? Or videos?  I can include that in the app. Is there any other publicity from your end I should include? Your project will have a page like this: https://www.scrollathon.com/sarasota-art-museum and include all of the elements on that page. We will also be pushing all o fhte videos out on our instagram and on youtube channels.

  • Do the recorded narratives of participants play at the exhibition in DC? Or are they just for our own personal archive of the event? Yes, they will play on monitors at the Kennedy Center and can play on monitors at your Museum and on all of our social channels.
